Morocco's Climbing Goats

Image
Amazing and hilarious Argan Goats of which was found only in Morocco. These Goats can climb trees very easily . The goats climb them because they like to eat the fruit of the argan tree(precious Argan fruit), which is similar to an olive. Farmers actually follow the herds of goats as they move from tree to tree. Not because it is so strange to see goats in trees and the farmers like to point and stare, but because the fruit of the tree has a nut inside, which the goats can't digest, so they spit it up or excrete it which the farmers collect.  The nut contains 1-3 kernels, which can be ground to make argan oil used in cooking and cosmetics. This oil has been collected by the people of the region for hundreds of years, but like many wild and useful things these days, the argan tree is slowly disappearing due to over-harvesting for the tree's wood and overgrazing by goats.

BIGGEST TORTOISE IN THE WORLD

Image
The "Aldabra giant tortoise" from the islands of the Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles, is one of the largest tortoises in the world. Many of these Tortoises live over 100 years. The Aldabras you are looking at here are on the famous "Prison Island" (aka Changuu) of Zanzibra, Tanzania.... Here is the story.... In 1919 the British governor of Seychelles sent a gift of four Aldabra Giant Tortoises to Changuu from the island of Aldabra. These tortoises bred quickly and by 1955 they numbered around 200 animals. However people began to steal the tortoises for sale abroad as pets or for food and their numbers dropped rapidly. By 1988 there were around 100 tortoises, 50 in 1990 and just seven by 1996.A further 80 hatchlings were taken to the island in 1996 to increase the numbers but 40 of them vanished. The Zanzibar government, with assistance from the World Society for the Protection of Animals built a large compound for the protection of the animals an

Flying Silver Carp on Wabash River in Indiana

Image
The Wabash River is a 503-mile-long (810 km)[1] river in the Midwestern United States that flows southwest from northwest Ohio near Fort Recovery across northern Indiana to southern Illinois, where it forms the Illinois-Indiana border before draining into the Ohio River, of which it is the largest northern tributary. From the dam near Huntington, Indiana to its terminus at the Ohio River, the Wabash flows freely for 411 miles (661 km). Flying silver carp jump and leap out of the water and into our boat. Indiana Outdoor Adventure TV hosts Troy McCormick and Mac Spainhour fend off the 20 pound fish as they attack the boaters and provide a boatload of fun and adventure.

Only 4500 rhinos remain worldwide

Image
Shortz - What Will Be the Next Species Only 4500 black rhinos remain worldwide and are critically endangered. If we can't save the black rhinos, what will be the next species to disappear? Great video on the rhino's, would be sad to see such beautiful creatures become extinct, they're the closest to what dinosaurs we see to this planet. Sad that there are only 4,500 but hope that number improves with people doing stuff to help!

From National Geographic podcast Wild Chronicles "Recent volcanic eruptions on the Galapagos Islands are disrupting the lives of many native plants and animals. Will the plants and animals that helped inspire Charles Darwin's theory of evolution be able to escape lava flows? Follow Wild Chronicles as we cover this hot topic." the galapagos islands are beautiful, and exotic range of animals, but now its covered with cities and tourists, trust the human race to shit things up

How Chicken Comes - Beautiful

Image
Chicken First Or Egg!!! (Beautiful Kohat's) From whence the humble chicken? Gallus gallus is a domesticated chicken-like bird (thus, the name "chicken") that originates in southeast Asia. Ever since Darwin we've known that the chicken originated in southeast Asia, although the exact details of which one or more of several possible jungle fowls is the primal form has been debated. The idea that more than one wild species contributed to the early chicken has been on the table for a long time, though perhaps not as long as the chickens themselves have been on the table.

Helicopter Transfering Lineman to Wire

Image
same principle as a 'bird on the wire' - there is no path to ground. However, just like a bird landing on a wire, the helicopter is not initially at the same potential as the energized wire - there's the key point, different potentials. Even with no path to ground, the helicopter and crew still must be raised to the potential energy of the wires - drawing the arc.
